Our long awaited Polaroid printed dress is finally up online for pre-order. The original pattern had to be reworked to improve the cut and after much fire fighting, its finally in its perfect state. Its a 80s style, with a roomy bodice, nipped waist and flared skirt. Its decked in this preppy coral coloured American imported cotton that is already out of print at the manufacturer’s.
Within days, this print is sold out. Not to be dismayed ladies, because this dress (like most of our dresses) can be customised to another colourway / print of your choice. And should we say, every Dayglow dress could just be re-imagined in another print beautifully. I had it done in a retro typewriter print as a preview for all to see how it will look. Hopefully it will be in time for our Public Garden this 24 October at Suntec Conventional Hall.
I have also round up some of the alternative prints that could possibly be used for this versatile and amazing cut!
This dress also features a BACK button down closure. I was taught a great tip on how to wear such dresses alone. Always button up the top 2 and bottom 2 (in this case) prior to slipping the dress over your head. After which, you should be able to easily reach for the last 2 buttons located at waist level. This works as the bodice and skirt are not fitted, thus making it easy for you to slip on the dress even with the back buttoned up. Anyway most dresses / blouses which feature such closure are mostly “baggy” and not fitted. EASY PEASY isn’t it?
Here are some throwback pictures of me in my very own Instant F(r)ame Dress, in Queenstown’s autumn. I had to layer it over my fleece jacket in the cool weather, but nevertheless its such a fun and happy dress to wear!
And lastly, an even earlier picture which I took when I first wore this lady out for a “test run”.
